Primitive Sites
Our primitive sites are nestled against the backdrop of our beautiful pastureland and the incredible Estero Americano waterway in West Marin. These are drive in sites, with non potable water spigots, spaced far apart from one another for privacy and tranquility. Wake up to mornings filled with bird song, lulling cows, and the occasional rooster crow, and enjoy a breakfast of farm fresh rainbow hen’s eggs, and a specialty herbal tea blend from our farm. Slowly settle into the afternoon with snacks from the farm, a kayak trip down the lazy river, a trip to Dillon Beach, a cycling expedition, a ranch tour or
a pasture walk. You can also check out our events page to see if we are hosting specialty dinners, or activities while you will be visiting.
Be sure to work up an appetite for dinner, and save room for our culinary offerings like grass fed and finished beef (raised on-site), fresh baked olive and herb focaccia, hand harvested veggies, and seasonal goats milk gelato. Finish off your evening gathered around the provided fire rings to the sound of frogs singing under the starry night sky.
The Blue Heron
This site is removed from our primitive camping sites and located just down the road with its own private entrance and parking. The Great Blue Heron is a refurbished trailer nestled beneath a large bending willow tree, and abutting the Estero San Antonio Waterway (just 10 ft. away from the waters edge). The surrounding space has lots of flat areas for additional tent set up, and direct access for canoes or kayaks. There is plenty of space for picnicking, laying out, lounging in the hammock with a good book, or BBQing up a local seasonal feast of farm fresh bites!
The trailer interior is large enough to accommodate two adults comfortably, but for larger groups of four we recommend extending into the exterior space which boasts room for 1-2 additional tents. Some of the site amenities include:
